Local fashion designer and models leave for Accra fashion week |29 March 2018

A delegation of five Seychellois left the country on Tuesday for the Accra fashion week where international designers will come together to put fashion business at the forefront of our society.

The best of Africa's models storm the runway from March 29 to April 1 in Ghana which will include celebrity appearances and performances.

History will be made as Johanna Didon is the first Seychellois designer to showcase her work during Accra fashion week.

Johanna started sewing since she was only 12 years old. She started sewing professionally to financially help her mother maintain their household. With determination it was not long before she later bought out her own workshop. She now aims to expand her clothing line on an international level with the vision to promote Seychelles’ tradition worldwide.

While Johanna will be presenting her new clothing brand named ‘Katiti’, the head of the delegation and managing director of Telly’s Modelling Agency, Terry Carolla, will be a speaker at a workshop for the models.

The three Seychellois models who will receive the chance to parade alongside top models from Africa and Europe are Ruth Bonte, Anika Monthy and Nahil Accouche.
