Air Seychelles flies Mayotte sports delegation to CJSOI games in Djibouti |18 April 2018

Air Seychelles has flown the Mayotte sports delegation from Mayotte to Djibouti yesterday on a special flight chartered for the 2018 Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l'Océan Indien (CJSOI) games.

Operated at full capacity, the 136-seat Airbus A320 took off from Seychelles yesterday morning before making a stop-off at Dzaoudzi-Pamandzi International Airport located on the southern tip of Petite-Terre, an island of Mayotte.

After picking up the delegation, the flight departed for its final destination in Djibouti, where this year’s regional sports competition is being held.

A charter flight has also been scheduled for May 1 to bring the team back to Mayotte after the close of the event.

Remco Althuis, chief executive of Air Seychelles, said: “We are pleased that Air Seychelles was in a position to organise this charter flight for the Mayotte delegation to participate in the upcoming games. Sports competitions like the CJSOI are built around the spirit of friendship, and this is a great example of people across the Indian Ocean working together.”
