President Faure meets Minister of State for Africa and MP Harriett Baldwin |20 April 2018

President Danny Faure has met the Minister of State for Africa and Member of Parliament, Harriett Baldwin, in the margins of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2018.

President Faure and Minister Baldwin reviewed the excellent relations and bilateral cooperation between Seychelles and the United Kingdom.

The meeting discussed the progress in the finalisation and signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on issues relating to security.

They also discussed other areas of common interest, such as the ongoing efforts in the prevention of piracy in the region, the rehabilitation of prisoners and drug offenders, and initiatives of transparency including the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and the Fisheries Transparency Initiative (FITI).

They also explored new avenues of possible cooperation.
