LDS wishes a happy celebration of Workers Day |02 May 2018

Linyon Demokratik Seselwa leader Roger Mancienne hasextended his party’s best wishes for a happy celebration to everyone in Seychelles on the occasion of Workers Day on May 1.

Mr Mancienne’s message reads:

“Once again we join together to celebrate Workers Day on May 1.

“LDS extends its best wishes for a happy celebration to everyone in Seychelles. In one way or another, we all have a part in this occasion because we are either workers or we rely on someone who is for what we have in life. This includes those who are today retired, for the contribution they have made in the past.

“It is only through work, and sometimes hard work, that we achieve anything. So this occasion is also one for us to rededicate ourselves to what we do and to renew our commitment to our duties and responsibilities.

“As a political party, we renew our commitment to social justice, which means striving for the benefit of all workers through fair remuneration, agreeable conditions and opportunities for everyone to use their skills and talents as best as possible.

“Workers’ Day honours all honest endeavours which contribute to the welfare of people and the well-being of our nation. All who contribute deserve respect and appreciation, but we deplore those actions which deprive people of their dignity and their rights. We will continue to strive against the social problems we face such as drug addiction, domestic violence and criminality which so often take away from what people have worked hard to earn for their families.

“We hope our celebration of Workers’ Day will bring us all together in unity and solidarity”.
