Police Communique - Indian man presumed drowned at Anse Forbans |19 May 2018

The police have reported that a 36-year-old Indian man who was staying at Captain Villa, Anse Forbans, is presumed drowned after his body was picked up from the sea at Roche Copra yesterday afternoon.

Accompanied by his wife aged 32, the man had gone snorkelling while the wife stayed behind on the beach. 

When he did not return ashore, the wife sought for assistance to find him.

It was a man who was involved in the search who saw the lifeless body of the Indian who was later certified dead by medical expert.

The incident was reported to the police at around 3.20pm.

The couple arrived in Seychelles on May 12 and were to leave the country today.

The police are investigating the incident while they await postmortem result to establish the exact cause of death.
