A 24-year-old male of Nouvelle Vallée (in the Beau Vallon district) has been charged with the offence of theft.

This is in relation to an incident whereby a tourist was robbed on the Beau Vallon beach on Monday.

The accused was apprehended and brought to court the same day.

Investigation carried out by the police has led to the recovery of all property stolen.

Having been charged with Monday’s offence, the accused had breached a previous court condition so the magistrate he appeared before on Monday ordered that he be remanded at the Montagne Posée prison pending the hearing of his cases.
