STB runs photo campaign at railway stations in Central London |14 June 2018

For two weeks, eye-catching images of the Seychelles islands kept turning heads at two prime and busy railway stations in central London.

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) was running a promotional drive at the Euston station and King’s Cross railway station.

The campaign, which ran until Sunday June 3, allowed both tube and rail passengers to dream of a tropical getaway as they moved up and down the escalators.

Three photos had been chosen for the campaign: one depicting the beauty of the destination in general captioned ‘Immerse yourself in the beauty of the islands of the Seychelles’, an activity shot captioned ‘Seychelles another world’, as well as a photo targeting the family segment captioned ‘Seychelles the place for families’.

STB director for UK & Ireland Christine Vel said: “Seychelles is already well known on the market as a honeymoon destination, but we are showcasing the other sides of things as well, including that there are plenty of activities to be done. The main message we wanted to put out there is that Seychelles is a destination for everyone, including children”.

According to the Transport for London (TFL) there were 51 million passengers that went through Euston station last year with a daily average of 139,751.

Passengers travelling through the King’s Cross railway station does not only include British travellers, but also other European travellers using the Eurostar from Paris, Disneyland, Brussels and Amsterdam. In 2017, it recorded over 53 million passengers, with a daily average of 145,810.
