Amazed to see test cricketer Nuwan Kulasekara |20 June 2018

I was amazed and happy to see another test cricketer on our soil.

All-rounder Nuwan Kulasekara joined Sri Lanka in 1982 and has just retired from the sport of cricket. He has taken 48 test and 199 ODI wickets and his highest score in test is 64 runs and 73 in ODI.

I brought ex-Indian captain, the late G.S. Ramchand, here and a few years ago the current Seychelles Cricket Association (SCA) chairman, Jonathan Paul, brought Jonty Rodes from South Africa.

Another cricketer who was here incognito is David Gower, the former English captain. I recognised him up at the old Lobster Pot at Anse Etoile in 1980.

Meanwhile, there was a soft ball tournament and over 32 teams took part.

It was a successful event and thank you to the Lakstars CC and all the sponsors for making it happen.
