Botanical Gardens Foundation gets tools, machinery to boost environment cleaning, beautification |25 June 2018

The National Botanical Gardens Foundation (NBGF) has received a set of essential tools and machinery to be used to trim and cut trees and hedges as well as mow the grounds of the gardens both at Mont Fleuri and at the biodiversity centre at Barbarons.

The tools and machinery are a gift from His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, from Bahrain, a lover and admirer of the Seychelles environment who is currently here on a friendly visit.

On Friday he handed over different garden tools and machinery to the minister responsible for environment, Wallace Cosgrow. They included chain saws, mowers and weed eaters among others.

This was in the presence of former environment minister Didier Dogley, principal secretary Alain de Commarmond and the chief executive of the NBGF, Raymond Brioche.

Mr Brioche expressed the NBGF’s appreciation for the gift noting that they will come in handy for the employees whose task is to continuously maintain a clean and beautiful environment in all the gardens for both visitors and locals alike to enjoy.
