Wyn Larue, Caleb Antat are Seychelles’ newest millionaires |02 July 2018

Seychelles has two new millionaires thanks to the million rupee lottery by Maz Millions.

Wyn Larue of Baie Lazare is the star prize winner and he won R2 million and Caleb Antat of North East Point gained R1 million as they both joined the exclusive club after the draw on Saturday night. Interestingly enough, both tickets were sold hours before the draw on Saturday.

Speaking to Seychelles NATION, Larue said he bought the winning ticket on Saturday morning at the Maz Millions office, hours before the draw.

“I only bought one ticket hours before the draw,” 29-year-old Larue told Seychelles NATION.

Asked what he plans to do with the money, Larue replied: “I will share R100,000 with five churches and convents. The rest I will invest in a fixed deposit for at least two years as I did not plan on winning that very large sum of money”.

Since first prize winner Caleb Antat is only 19 months old, his father Barnsley Antat told Seychelles NATION that he bought six tickets – one for himself, one for his wife, one for himself and his wife and one for each of his three children – on Saturday morning at the Maz Millions office.

“It was the last day and I told myself: ‘Why not try our luck?’ We could not believe it when we started receiving calls that Caleb had won the first prize,” Mr Antat told Seychelles NATION.

Mr Antat added: “We will give part of the money to the church and also to charity as we want to help the vulnerable children. In fact, it was one of the dreams to one day help the vulnerable children and I thank God for making the dream come much earlier”.

Wyn Larue and Caleb Antat along with the other 18 prize winners will receive their prizes in a cocktail later this week, Marie-France MacGregor of Maz Millions told Seychelles NATION.

Winners will be contacted in the forthcoming days regarding the date and venue.

Mrs MacGregor added that she was happy with the sale of tickets although at first people were a bit skeptic and some even asked where they would get the money to pay out the winners.

“My dream is to see a Seychellois win R10 million in a lottery one day just like we see and read about in other countries. Now we know – Maz Millions is for real!,” said Mrs MacGregor.

She added that she always wanted to do something big for the people of Seychelles and that’s why starting today, July 2, tickets for the second draw on December 30, 2018 will go on sale for a star of prize of R3 million.

Tickets cost R1,000 each an don’t miss out as you too can win big!
