The department of Foreign Affairs has announced the arrival of H.R.H Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Saud Bin Nayef Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as the special envoy of H.R.H Prince Mohammad bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

H.R.H Bin Nayef and his delegation were received at the airport late Tuesday night by the Designated Minister, Macsuzy Mondon, Minister Jean-Paul Adam, Minister Didier Dogley and other high-ranking officials of State House and the department of Foreign Affairs.

Seychelles and Saudi Arabia established diplomatic relations in 2000 and has since then enjoyed fruitful relations in various fields of cooperation. Two such areas have been assistance from the Saudi Development Fund in the energy sector, from which Seychelles received US $20 million in co-funding for the construction of a US $36 million 33kv network reinforcement project for the south of Mahé which is expected to be completed in November 2019.

Another such cooperation is in the field of environment and climate change, in which the Saudi Development fund financially supported Seychelles, was in 2013 following the natural devastations caused by the tropical cyclone Felleng which incurred approximately US $ 9 million in losses.

H.R.H will also call on the President during his official visit from July 3-6, 2018.
