‘Make A Child Smile’ to benefit from proceeds of Nigerian gospel album |09 July 2018

10% of the proceeds of a gospel album entitled New Dawn by Pastor Obinna Nkemjika of Winners Seychelles International will be donated to the ‘Make A Child Smile’ Foundation.

This was announced during a gospel concert at the UniSey Theatre last Sunday afternoon to launch the New Dawn album.

The six songs on the gospel album, the first by Pastor Obinna and his wife Amarachi, are ‘Show’, ‘Your will be done’, ‘More than enough’, ‘Sweet Jesus’, ‘I will testify’ and ‘New Dawn’.

The concert on Sunday saw the participation of some top gospel artists like Robert Moumou, Original Smash – who is most famously known as Smash Kid, Randolph Camille, the son of famous local singer Jones Camille, Roger Volcère widely known as Fastidious, among others.

“For what God has done in our lives we could not forget some special people among us and these are the children,” Pastor Obinna noted when he made his way on stage in the middle of the show.

Pastor Obinna said his wife and himself were touched and moved by what Clifford Mondon of ‘Make A Child Smile’ was doing for the little children.

“Some people are born to preach, some to sing but I guess I was born to make a child smile,” Mr Mondon said before accepting a small token from the pastor for the children as well as the assurance that 10% of the proceeds from the sale of the album will also go to the foundation.

Mr Mondon availed of the opportunity to talk about the work of the foundation which was established in December 2016 and how it has brought a smile on the faces of many children and their families who had previously lost hope.

“The funds the Pastor will donate will go toward funding for the visit of three low vision specialists from the USA who will screen the eyes of blind and vision impaired children as well as adults,” Mr Mondon explained, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Obinna for this wonderful gesture. Mr Mondon said if all goes well the specialists will be here end of November and the foundation has to raise above R500,000 for this to be possible.

Any businesses, organisations, groups or individuals who want to make a contribution to the foundation can reach Mr Mondon on 2814000 for details.
