National Day lottery winners receive prizes |14 July 2018

 

 

 

Winners of the 2018 National Day lottery received their prizes in a small ceremony held at the International Conference Centre (ICCS) on Thursday  morning. 

The lottery was drawn at 6pm on Sunday July 1, at the closing of the national show.

The first prize, a three-bedroom house sponsored by the government, was won by James Joseph of La Gogue and he collected his prize from Designated Minister and chairperson of the National Celebrations Committee, Macsuzy Mondon. Present at the ceremony were members of the National Celebrations Committee, sponsors and other lottery winners.

Mr Joseph, who had bought two tickets, learned of his luck through a phone call from his cousin. He is currently staying at his mother’s house and said that he is looking forward to entering his new home.

The second prize of R50,000, sponsored by the National Celebrations Committee went to Sheila (who doesn’t want her surname & address to be mentioned) from St Louis while the third prize, a boat plus engine sponsored by Pilgrims Security and AV Group was won by Daphney Telemaque, P0.Box 574.

According to a member of the organising committee, Giovanna Rousseau, the three-bedroom house is being built at Perseverance and will be ready by December. One million, one hundred and twenty-one thousand and four hundred rupees (Rs 1,121,400) was collected from the sales of the lottery tickets. 50,000 tickets were sold with 150 tickets unsold. A ticket was selling at R25 on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. The money will be used to cover expenses for the national day activities and for the funding of future celebration activities.

5th Prize – Trucy Telemaque, Baie St Anne Praslin (R25,000 sponsored by National Celebrations Committee)

6th Prize - Rudy Sinon, Rochon (one casuarina timber sofa set sponsored by Green Island Construction Company)

7th Prize - Cailum Bresson, PO Box 1111 (one year NSC gym membership sponsored by the National Sports Council)

8th Prize - Jenifer Wagner, Fairy Land (one 55” Led flat screen TV sponsored by Dara Plus)

9th Prize - Sylvie Vidot, Baie Lazare (one double door fridge sponsored by Samsung)

10th Prize - Sanjay Cesar, Port Glaud (one calice du pape double bed sponsored by Young Entrepreneurs)

11th Prize - Henry Talma, Petit Paris (five years subscription of the daily Seychelles NATION newspaper sponsored by the National Information Services Agency)

12th Prize - Danny Port-Louis, Pointe Conan (monthly facial for one year sponsored by Lifestyle Spa)
