New Seychelles ambassador to Japan accredited |14 July 2018

 

 

 

Seychelles’ resident ambassador in Beijing, Vivianne Fock Tave, has been accredited as Seychelles’ ambassador to Japan.

She presented her credentials to His Majesty Emperor Akihito in a ceremony held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on July 5, 2018.

During her accreditation visit to Japan, Ambassador Fock Tave thanked the Japanese government for its assistance, especially in maritime security, disaster management, fisheries, education and tourism sectors in which Japan and Seychelles have had positive collaborations.

Ambassador Fock Tave also pointed out that the two countries should explore the possibilities of enhancing its relations in other areas of cooperation which will further benefit the peoples of Seychelles and Japan.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in June 1976, Japan has been an important international partner in the socio-economic development of Seychelles and has contributed to around R190 million in the development of the fisheries sector.

For the accreditation visit, Ambassador Fock Tave was accompanied by Alex Henderson, second secretary at the embassy of Seychelles in Beijing and Jean-Luc Lai-Lam, the Seychelles Tourism Board director for China and Japan, based at the Seychelles embassy in Beijing.
