Football - Futuro Sports Sesel joins health ministry to promote ‘Bouze Menm’ |23 July 2018
Futuro Sports Sesel in collaboration with the Ministry of Health held their first official football training on Thursday at Stad Popiler under the slogan ‘Bouze Menm’, meaning keep moving.
The training was organised to encourage families to exercise together.
Chairman of Futuro Sports Sesel Lucas Panayi explained that the main objective of the training session was to allow parents to exercise alongside their children while they develop their ability in football.
At Thursday’s session, Futuro Sports Sesel provided equipment and coaches to around 20 children who were joined by Minster for Health Jean-Paul Adam
Mr Adam said President Danny Faure have placed emphasis on exercising as it forms part of a good and healthy nation.
“We knew that we also have to find a way to interest children, and I am very happy that Futuro Sports Sesel Academy came forward with this idea, which the government is supporting and which will motivate children to get into sports,” added Mr Adam.
He explained that for children to practice sports activities they need the support of their parents and especially in these difficult days, this gives the parents a great opportunity to watch and protect their kids while they can also exercise.
The kids kicked off Thursday’s training session with various drills to assess their skill set.
Panayi explained that their main focus during training is to determine the skill set of each individual, who are aged between 5-25 years.
“The drills that we are doing here today will help us determine this, so that the kids themselves can improve on their game,” added Panayi.
He continued by explaining that training is set for every week and for every session they are expected to have new applicants.
Children will be challenged in different parts using a pointing system where a child is graded from 0-5 according to things such a lateness and presence.
Futuro Sports Sesel is well connected to international teams and as Panayi explained, footballers who shine and stick out with a certain football talent, may have the chance to perform internationally, while the coaches will gain more experience from coaching courses.
The fee for the Futuro Sports Sesel Academy amounts to R800 for two months, which will cut down to R400 a months after the months are complete. Players will even have a chance to spend a one-on-one time with the coaches which will be R100.
