‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to be held on August 18-19 |23 July 2018

Little stars set to shine in this year’s talent show

This year’s ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ talent show will be held on August 18-19 at the International Conference Centre (ICCS).

The show’s producer and director, Bennet Accouche, fondly referred to as Sir Bennet, has been working with 15 chosen little stars and they are set to shine on the stage.

The first show as we may recall was held in November 2000.

“Parents look forward to seeing their children on the newspaper, on stage and on television. The idea of the show came after Jules Hoareau and I were doing a live children's radio programme where the kids would come every Saturday morning on SBC radio and I would play my guitar to accompany their song and also ask them a few questions...People always told me how they enjoyed hearing the kids and how it would be great to also see them instead of only hearing them.  Hence the idea of having them performed on stage begun. The first public performance was held to a full audience in the old playground. That was when the idea of performing in ICCS started. It has been a yearly event but unfortunately we missed three performances due to lack of funding. This year will be the 16th show,” said Mr Accouche.

The stars of this year’s show are: Grace Roucou, Xena Larue, Dautria Macuzanne, Hendrik Van Der Westhuizen, Kalisha Adrien, Danielle Morel, Shaul Baron, Dolores Confiance, Stevee Rose, Andriella Payet, Alea Mondon, Tanisha Fred, Aurelie Payet, Emily Rose and Helen Mellie.

As usual, the shows will be held on two days – August 18 and 19 -- at the ICCS. Both shows start at 4pm and tickets are on sale at Camion Hall (anba Codevar) at R150.

The show will include dance performances, a kids’ band, choir, family performance, and other guest artists.

“It was hard to choose the 15 contestants out of almost 100 candidates. I would like to thank the parents and public in general for their usual support. I would advise the public to get their tickets early to avoid disappointment,” concluded Mr Accouche.
