Former SFF secretary general Jemmy Adela passes away |25 July 2018

Seychelles football is once again in a state of mourning.

Former Seychelles Football Federation (SFF) secretary general Jemmy Adela passed away yesterday.

He was first appointed secretary general of the SFF

in 2007 and spent 10 years in this post, until last year when he was succeeded by George Bibi.

Mr Adela had himself succeeded Willem Boniface who had occupied this position before him.

Although he was no longer the secretary general, Mr Adela was still involved with the federation in another capacity.

As secretary general, he was in charge of the administrative side of the SFF and his work included overseeing the country’s leagues and cup matches, football development as well as beach soccer.

The secretary general is normally chosen by the chairman of the federation and must be accepted by the executive committee, before being presented to Fifa (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) which actually employs the secretary general to run the football federation.

The secretary general is not employed by the SFF, but rather by Fifa.
