The Survival Ark Foundation receives biblical story books |17 August 2018

The Seychelles Bible Society, a local Commission of Faith-Based Organisations on Tuesday donated a batch of biblical story books to the Survival Ark Foundation (SAF), an organisation which advocates quality child care and children-related issues.

Representatives of the Seychelles Bible Society Margaret Maillet and Marie-May Jacques handed over the books to Theresia Julie, the vice-chairperson of the SAF during a small ceremony held at the Bel Ombre community centre during one of the foundation’s holiday programme sessions.

Presenting the books, Mrs Maillet said, hopefully it will help the kids to learn more about the Bible, thus help them to be closer to God and also to develop a stronger relationship with Him.

Thankful for the books, Mrs Julie said they will help to provide spiritual empowerment and promote good moral values, all in line with the SAF’s main objectives.

The SAF embodies a group of individuals committed to bring help to our children and their families.

Their foundational scripture derives from Proverbs 22:6 “Train a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Their main objectives are to advocate quality child care and children related issues and to provide safe and caring environment for children to enjoy leisure time while parents are working, to provide spiritual empowerment and parenting skills while promoting good moral values and reaching out to the adolescents who are vulnerable while empowering them to make smart choices.

As for the Seychelles Bible Society, their main objective include propagation of the word of God – the Bible in the language of the people and within the means of the people, to  encourage the wider circulation of the Holy Scriptures by churches and other means, to  promote the use of the Holy Scriptures, to  raise support through local contributions for the local and worldwide work of the Bible Society and also to work in partnership and cooperation with all Christian churches and church-related organisations.
