Vijay International School students celebrate excellent results |18 August 2018

Students from the Vijay International School, Praslin were once again celebrating this week, following the publication of IGCSE and A-Level results.

The school, about to enter its 10th year, has cemented a reputation in recent years for outstanding IGCSE results while its new A-Level centre, opened three years ago, has already produced some high quality outcomes too.

This year, IGCSE results at the school were once again excellent, building on the success of previous years.

Overall 99% of exams were passed with 76% at C grade or above, both of those figures would be well above the average for a school in the United Kingdom.

In particular, there were outstanding academic performances by Jan Bouchereau, Julius Bossy and Gaia Ugo Sala. These exceptional results mark yet another step forward for the school in terms of IGCSE success.

After the publication of their first A-Level results 12 months ago, the school was delighted that every student who wished to move into further education was able to move on to their first choice of university.

That cohort has gone on to study in the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and Malaysia and at the University of Seychelles in courses as diverse as medicine and software engineering.

This year, the school was delighted with results which were on a par with the previous year. Again, this will enable those students who wish to go to university to do so.

In particular, Benny Bodoni and Chloe Morel produced excellent results and will both now go on to study at university in the United Kingdom.

Headteacher Mark Howell was very pleased with the results.

He said: “The students should be congratulated for these excellent results. Their hard work and determination, supported by excellent staff at the school and their parents, have enabled them to do very well. These results will now open the doors for these students to go on to the workplace, post-16 education or university level education. Whatever they decide to do, Vijay International School (VISP) has created a platform for them to succeed.”

Meanwhile, places at VISP are still available for September in some classes, including IGCSE and A-Level classes and enrolment is taking place now.

Prospective families should be made aware that waiting lists are now in effect in some classes.

Please email headteacher Mark Howell at mhowell@visp-sey.com for any further details about the school.
