ANB Communiqué South African woman remanded for importation of suspected heroin |23 August 2018

The Magistrate Court has ordered that a 28-year-old unemployed South African female be remanded for 14 days after she was arrested for the offence of importation of a controlled drug.

She was arrested on Monday by officers of the Anti-Narcotics Bureau (ANB) within the Police Department in possession of approximately 1 kilogram of suspected heroin.

The woman was arrested on the same day of her arrival after landing at the Seychelles International Airport, travelling from South Africa via Addis Ababa on board an Ethiopian Airline flight.

She will reappear before the court on September 3, 2018 while the ANB continues its investigation in this case.
