Three more Seychellois have won scholarships to study in India.

Etienne Emmanuel Joubert, an official from the Ministry of Health, has been nominated by the government of Seychelles to follow a ‘Specialised Training Programme in Healthcare Technologies (Bio-medical equipment and medical informatics)’, from September 3, 2018 to October 26, 2018 at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in Mohali, Chandigarh, India, under the ITEC programme of the government of India.

 All expenses of Mr Joubert’s training, including international airfare, internal travel, course fee, accommodation and living allowance will be borne by the government of India.

As for Emminielle Maieve Elizabeth and Janice Pelissier, Seychellois citizens from Anse Aux Pins, they have been awarded an education scholarship by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) of the government of India.  Ms Elizabeth will be studying for a Bachelor of Arts in  Geography while Ms Pelissier will be studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, both at the Delhi University. 

During the three-year-long degree course, the government of India will provide them university fee, hostel fee, one return international airfare, Indian Rupees (INR) 18,500 per month as living allowance, plus medical coverage.  

They left Mahé for Delhi on August 8, 2018.

After their graduation, they can again opt for ICCR scholarship to further continue their post graduation and doctoral research studies in India.  The scholarship does not require any bond or contract to be executed by the students.
