Nisa’s revamped website goes live |02 August 2013

A new and more dynamic Seychelles NATION website of the National Information Services Agency (Nisa) was launched yesterday, offering viewers a different experience compared to the previous one.

The launch was held at the Seychelles NATION’s office in the presence of chief press secretary Srdjana Janosevic, who is also the principal secretary for the department of information, chairperson of Nisa’s board of directors René Morel and other members, its chief executive Merline Volcère and deputy Myrna Bonnelame.

The agency’s members of staff were also present to witness the launch of the new dynamic website.
Other guests included the chief executives of the Seychelles Media Commission Ibrahim Afif and that of the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation Antoine Onezime.

Before launching the website, Mr Morel expressed words of thanks to the agency’s members of staff for their dedication towards their work and in making Nisa a successful organisation.

“I am happy that the agency is taking the opportunities given to them and I congratulate them for their creativity,” said Mr Morel.
“As an agency, we need to look towards the future, seize the opportunities presented to us,” he added.

In her opening address, Ms Volcère said giving the website a new look started over a year ago –  after seeing that the current website needed some rejuvenating work.
She added that there was a need to make the website more appealing and attractive to its viewers.

“With an average of 1,500 to 2,000 clickers per day and with readers using it a lot as a reference tool for national events, www.nation.sc was worth reviving,” she said.
The website now offers more features in addition to the daily news articles published in the Seychelles NATION newspaper.

It will also give its clients the chance to advertise online by posting their banner adverts at very attractive rates.
Website manager and coordinator Marylene Julie gave those present an overview of the website and its features.

During the ceremony, certificates were given out to members of staff who had taken part in the 2013 National Day expo.
