Seychelles endorses SADC report, welcomes peaceful election in Zimbabwe |10 August 2013

The Seychelles government has congratulated the government and people of Zimbabwe for organising peaceful elections in accordance with the provisions of the Global Political Agreement (GPA) negotiated following the last elections in 2008.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also confirmed that the government of Seychelles endorses the preliminary report of the Southern African Development Council (SADC) Election Observation Mission (SEOM).

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference of the electoral commissions forum of the SADC region on Tuesday August 6, Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Paul Adam asked that the issues flagged in the preliminary SADC report be given full attention.

The ministry looks forward to the findings of the full SADC report.
