Chinese Pagoda renovated |16 August 2013

The Chinese Pagoda will host its first event – the Moon cake festival – on Sunday September 22, 2013 after being renovated.

All Chinese nationals are being invited for the festival.

The Pagoda on Benezet Street has already started catering for Tai Chi and Chinese lessons.

The Chinese Pagoda underwent a small renovation with the help of the Chinese embassy in Seychelles.

The ceiling which was in a deplorable state has been restored.  Lightings and ceiling fans have also been fitted in the hall. Toilet facilities and a water tank have been installed.

The renovation works have been sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Seychelles.

Chinese embassy councilor Wang Zhanqing handed over a cheque for R100,000 to the Chinese Association of Seychelles chairperson Charlie Ng earlier this year to cater for the renovation work.
