Couple get 5 years for burglary and stealing |10 July 2004

Marie Antoinette Hoareau, 31, and her concubine Gonzague Maria, 27, of Grand Anse Mahe broke into a house at Port Glaud during the night of June 27 - 28 and stole a music set and a Sony television.

The property was recovered by the police on Monday July 5.

The two appeared before the court yesterday morning and were both sentenced to 5 years for burglary and two years for stealing.

Their sentences will run concurrently meaning they will both serve 5-year jail terms.
