Economic Commission to meet July 23 |22 July 2004

Economic Planning Minister Jacquelin Dugasse will chair the meeting.
The Economic Commission comprises economists from the public and private sectors.

President James Michel said in his June 18 National Day address that the commission would work on a plan and strategy of economic development for the next ten years.
 
President Michel is expecting a preliminary report from the commission before the end of the year.

The commission will also propose a short-term strategy to address immediate economic concerns. This will build further on the economic package the president introduced after June 18.
