In the spirit of brotherhood and solidarity with our kidnapped friends and their families, we should as a nation demonstrate to the whole world that pirates are not our friends and that we condemn all acts of piracy, be it in its ancient forms or the recent upsurge of the pirates of the 21st Century.

Schoolchildren could be invited to propose new names and the best participant in this competition could be awarded a prize.
