Seychelles in focus at Emirates brochure launch

The Seychelles’ representatives at the Emirates brochure launch

It was led by Alain St Ange, the country’s director of tourism marketing, and comprised officials from the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) and Creole Travel Services (CTS).

The Emirates brochure launch is held just before the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), and this year over 400 travel agents from key markets were flown to Dubai to take part in the prestigious event.

“It is a mini trade fair in itself,” said Mr St Ange. “And all these agents who are being fully hosted by Emirates Holidays are a captive market to whom our destination was presented over a two-day period, over and above selling Seychelles on the open day.”

He said the event was the first in a series of immediate marketing missions for the STB as they were next going to attend the ATM this week before flying over to Durban, South Africa, this weekend, for the Indaba trade fair.

Shortly after that will come the STB’s move to reposition itself in the UK and recapture its fair share of the market, reversing the downward trend of visitors.

The CTS team was headed by Alice Tirant and Daphnee Marie, while for the STB team Middle East regional director Julie Muirhead, senior marketing manager Blaisila Hoffman and Karen Confait, manager of the new e-marketing department, joined Mr St Ange.
