Quarry operator gets ready to start work |11 May 2009

Following an agreement signed with the government, the Qingdao Construction Group of China is now moving plant and equipment on to the site in readiness for quarrying to start.

The company said in a statement that the quarry project not only confirms its confidence in the government and people of Seychelles at a time of global  recession, but it is also geared to providing much-needed building materials and services at competitive prices to benefit the economy.

Although the plant and equipment now being moved are a basis for launching the project, more is expected to be bought as the scheme progresses. A total of US $2 million is earmarked for investment in the project.
