Free entry to national museums on two open days |18 May 2009

The National Museum of History and the Natural History Museum will open their doors tomorrow and Wednesday, May 19 and 20, to residents and visitors alike.

This chance to see some of Seychelles’ most treasured possessions and appreciate its natural, historical and cultural heritage is offered to mark International Museum Day.

The special day is being celebrated under the theme Museums and Tourism, and both museums will be open from 9am-4pm with free guided tours around the exhibitions by the senior museum curator and other staff.

There will also be information on the exciting developments planned over the coming years, which will help to secure the long-term future of both museums.

The open days are seen as a great opportunity for local people, businesses and visitors not only to view the exhibitions and displays but also to find out more about the museums’ services and future plans. They will also help to open better dialogue between the museums and the community.
