Businessman gives toys to children’s council

Mr Liao hands over the gifts to Mr Malbrook in the presence of Ms Pardiwalla (left), Mrs Rene (right) and several La Misere students

The short ceremony took place at the Children’s Ark building at Bel Eau yesterday, in the presence of NCC patron Geva Rene, its director Ruby Pardiwalla and staff, as well as several La Misere students.

Mr Liao has already made various donations to other institutions, orphanages and to the elderly.
His decision to donate to the NCC came after seeing media coverage of the child protection week held recently by the council.
Mr Liao said he wanted to contribute to the children of Seychelles and to help promote their welfare.

He said it is the beginning of a partnership between the two sides and he would like to continue making contributions.

The council chose Kevin Malbrook to accept Mr Liao’s gift, which also included items such as tablecloths and an electric thermo pot.

Mr Malbrook read the speech 30 years ago when the Children’s Playground was opened for International Day of the Child on June 1.
