New party changes name |06 September 2011

In a communiqué addressed to the media yesterday, the office of the electoral commission said it has registered this change of name in accordance with the Political Parties (Registration and Regulation) Act.

The PDM is led by David Pierre, former deputy secretary general of the Seychelles National Party (SNP) and proportionally elected member of the National Assembly for the opposition.

He resigned from both posts shortly before the presidential election in May this year.
