Football: Barclays league division one-Ten-man Anse Reunion gun down La Passe in derby |06 October 2011

After St Louis Suns had halted St Michel last week, this should have been the motivation for La Passe to further close the gap on the league leaders as they had a game in hand and were eight points adrift of the defending champions St Michel.

However, Anse Reunion put their bad form behind them as they stunned their neighbours when referee José Pillay awarded them a penalty after a foul by goalie Vincent Euphrasie. Malagasy Jean Del’Or Tsaralaza stepped up to beat Euphrasie for a 1-0 lead.

Del’Or completed his brace with a fine shot which found refuge in the net for a 2-0 half-time score.
Anse Reunion were reduced to 10 men early in the second half as Norvil Gaspard retaliated on Malagasy Valerie after being elbowed by the La Passe midfielder.

Referee Pillay brandished a straight red card, but Anse Reunion kept La Passe at bay to register a morale-boosting 2-0 victory in a topsy-turvy season for them.
