Volleyball: Super Cup competition-Favourites Arsu and Cascade cruise to wins |11 October 2011

In their match played at Victoria Gymnasium on Saturday, Cascade took 1 hour nine minutes to beat La Digue 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-15) and Arsu claimed all three sets against Juniors for a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-17) win at the Palais des Sports on Sunday.

In the other women’s matches, OSC Comets defeated Praslin Volleyball Club 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-21), while La Digue came from two sets down to inflict a second defeat on the Praslin-based team. The set scores were 12-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-12 and 15-10.

In the only men’s match played, Racing Club beat Anse Royale 3-1 (25-17, 24-26, 25-14, 25-23).

Meanwhile, there were also second division league matches on the programme during the weekend. In the women’s matches, Mont Fleuri took only 52 minutes to beat Aros 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-11), while Island Girls beat St Louis Bombers 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-17).

In the only men’s division two match played, Juniors beat Cadets 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-21).
