Bodybuilding -Mekdachi wins with sparkling condition

Lovenut Classic winner Mekdachi              Best junior flex poser Larue

Whatever doubt people had before the start of Saturday night’s contest at the Lovenut Night Club was dispelled as soon as Mekdachi got on stage. There was no doubt he was the clear-cut winner as he looked awesome and un-human to win the first contest of the year organised under the banner of the Seychelles Bodybuilding Association (SBBA) and put up by trainer of champions Regis Delorié.

Mekdachi also did enough to impress the three-man jury of Roxy Athanase, Heribert Azemia and Dominic Lau-Tee to win the best poser title, living up to his billing as one of the most distinguished bodybuilders in the country. He went home with R4,000, two trophies, a dinner for two at the Bravo Restaurant and medals.

“This is the result of hard work, dedication and discipline in training,” Mekdachi told the media.
He also thanked coach Delorié and all his followers for their support.

Third in last year’s first Animal Kingdom Gym bodybuilding championship won by Mekdachi, Joe Gabriel was a solid second, finishing in front of Rodney Henriette who was not in tip-top shape. Other than trophies and medals, Gabriel won R3,000 and Henriette R2,000.

Larue once again caught the eyes of the judges to make it a second win in a row after outfoxing his opponents in the Animal Kingdom Gym bodybuilding championship in December last year.

A huge favourite, Larue, 19, was in his best shape ever and stood tall above the three-man field with a polished display to win R1,500, a voucher at the Continental Store, a trophy and a medal.

“The competition was quite tough with everyone challenging for the top prize. I’m happy I won,” said Larue.

Runner-up Eric Kallee got R1,000 and third-place finisher Kevin Laurette R500 as well as the most improved bodybuilder trophy.

Emmanuel Pierre and Eddy Racombo also took part in the contest and got certificate and medals like all other bodybuilders.

The SBBA also received Dark Dog energy drink and Candia milk which it will give to the bodybuilders.
