Pointe Larue secondary school receives laptop and PA system

The handover of the donation

Attending the short ceremony earlier this week at the school were the Anse Aux Pins district administrator Sylvia Stravens, Anse Aux Pins’ ex-Member of National Assembly Joseph François, Pointe Larue secondary school’s head teacher Nella Belmont, Paradise Computer Services representative, curriculum development officer within the department of education Marie-Flora Ben-David.

“Since we have a good number of students who are from the Anse Aux Pins district, it is the shared responsibility of all members of the community to join together to help the school,” said Mrs Ben-David, who added that effective collaboration, shared responsibility and participation of stakeholders are necessary to bring together schools and communities.

Mrs Stravens said she hopes students will make good use of the items and she encouraged them to use all other resources put at their disposal for effective studying.

Head teacher Belmont said she was happy with the donations and said a PA system was long overdue as the Pointe Larue secondary school is a big school and most students could not hear everything being said during school assemblies.

“We are thankful and hope both students and teachers will make good use of and benefit from both items,” she said.
