Football: Barclays league division one-The Lions win protest and earn replay |04 November 2011

The Lions had made a formal protest to the SFF on Wednesday over Northern Dynamo’s refusal to play their rescheduled Barclays league division one match on Monday evening at Stad Linite. Northern Dynamo turned up for the match, but decided not to take to the pitch.

Originally this match was programmed for Sunday, but was postponed because of bad weather and both teams had agreed for it to be played on Monday and to kick off at 7pm.

The match was crucial for The Lions as it was a do-or-die encounter and if they were to win by a three-goal margin, they would not be relegated, but rather meet SMB in the play-off for a place in the first division next season.

The SFF said it took the decision to replay the match in “fairness to The Lions.”

The match will now be played on Tuesday November 8, starting at 5pm at Stad Linite.
