New five-year strategic plan for social development department |16 November 2011
In her speech, social development department principal secretary Linda William-Melanie said the aim of the plan is to focus on what the social development department needs to do in order to better itself and provide a better service.
She added that she hopes social development department staff would come away from the workshop with a positive outlook and with new lessons learned.
Among different issues discussed was the upholding of the department’s core values which are: professionalism, loyalty, integrity, efficiency, teamwork and respect.
Senior research officer Michelle Marguerite said the strategic plan will serve as a guide for the department’s work for the next five years and added that its new website –www.socialdevelopment.gov.sc – which will be up and running soon, has been updated to make it more attractive and user-friendly.
