Netball: Secondary school tournament-Praslin girls maintain winning streak |24 November 2011

They defeated Pointe Larue 8-6 in the final to sail home with the best overall trophy.
The tournament held last Saturday at Victoria Gymnasium gathered six teams from various secondary schools on Mahe and Praslin. It started with the pool stages where English River, Praslin and Pointe Larue battled in group A, while Anse Royale, Plaisance and Anse Boileau were drawn in pool B.

After winning their first group match 11-1 against English River, Praslin narrowly lost 5-6 to Pointe Larue in their second encounter, placing them second in the group.

As pool A runners-up, they played against pool B winners Anse Boileau in the semifinal, while in the other semifinal, pool A winners Pointe Larue played against pool B runners-up Anse Royale.

Praslin won their match 12-2, while Pointe Larue booked their place in the final by edging-out Anse Royale 7-6.
In the final, which was a repetition of the pool match, Pointe Larue once again scored six points only to be outscored by Praslin who got eight.

Pointe Larue’s Isabelle Figaro was voted as the tournament’s best player.
