Top Swiss newspapers send contest winners to Praslin |03 December 2011

The lucky winners were drawn from more than 17,000 contest entries by voice phone, text message, or via Internet.

The contest first ran for 11 days (October6-16) in 24 heures (24heures.ch) and for another 11 days (October12-22) in Tribune de Genève (tdg.ch) – two major newspapers with a combined circulation of 370,000 readers, published by Edipresse Publications S.A. in Geneva for the French-speaking part of Switzerland.

The contest was simultaneously available on the newspapers’ web sites, resulting in significant exposure for Seychelles in this region in the heart of Europe.

“This campaign has proven, once again, that we can move mountains if we pool our resources,” commented Edith Hunzinger, regional manager for the Seychelles Tourism Board in Frankfurt and responsible for the Swiss market.

“This contest was sponsored 100 per cent by our partners and did not cost the Seychelles one cent,” she noted.
Ms Hunzinger is confident it has given the already booming market another boost.

The winners are Christine Péclard and Stéphanie Fracheboud. They each won two return tickets on Etihad Airways from Geneva via Abu Dhabi to Seychelles plus six nights’ accommodation at the Raffles Praslin.
