National Library to host holiday activities for children |09 December 2011

The activities, organised by the children’s section of the library, will run from 9am to noon from December 12 to December 20.

Principal Librarian Anne-Marie Robert noted that the activities are held each holiday to help promote books to young children and allow them to develop their reading and writing skills.

Some of the activities this time include storytelling, singing Christmas carols, handicraft, poem recital and quizzes, to name a few.

Mrs Robert added that parents should be aware that the number of children taking part in these activities is limited so those interested should register their children early.

“This can either be done by telephone or visiting us at the library,” she said, adding that only 30 to 40 children are allowed per group.

It is to be noted that children below the age of 6 will require parental supervision.
