Police warn against illegal public assembly |14 December 2011

This follows propagation of threats on the internet against a judge, who put forward the complaint against the editor, as well as political leaflet distribution in Victoria today by the defendant’s supporters calling for assembly outside the court.

The police are reminding the public that such an assembly will be illegal and therefore once the court has reached its capacity, the police will ask any additional persons to leave the court premises.

The police have called on all concerned to respect the authority of the judiciary.
