R120,000 raised in successful international bazaar |24 December 2011

It was evident from the turnout that this event is fast gaining recognition and is something that the public looks forward to.

Apart from the various stalls that represented countries like France, China, the United Kingdom, India, Russia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives that have diplomatic presence in Seychelles, local business also took part in order to create the ambiance and add to the fanfare with culinary exposure to different cuisines including Seychellois.

There was also enthusiastic contribution from local schools and the Children’s Homes Foundation. Other charity organisations came onboard to support the cause which is to raise funds to make it a better day for those who need help in the community.

The DSA also introduced a luxury lucky dip which was highly successful. The prizes for the Lucky dip were very generous donations from tourism establishments, prominent local businesses and well-known local artists. In addition, there were many activities for children such as a bouncy castle and face-painting.

The DSA recognises the success of the bazaar is entirely due to generous and active contribution of those who also believe in making a difference, by doing what they can to support our cause and to all of them we are grateful.

The R120,000 raised from this year’s bazaar has been earmarked for community-related projects. The DSA will explore areas that need support. All of the DSA’s activities are updated on its website which members of the public are encouraged to check at www.dsaseychelles.com to stay informed on how the money they have helped raise are being put to good use.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and the very best in 2012 and would like thank everyone for their continued support.
