Seychelles re-establishes non-stop flights to Europe |19 January 2012

This follows a meeting that a tourism delegation from Seychelles has had in Rome, Italy with top officials of the Blue Panorama Airline, among whom was its chairman and chief executive Franco C.B. Pecci.

The Seychelles delegation comprised Alain St Ange, the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), Captain David Savy, the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA), and Monette Rose, the tourism board’s manager for Italy.

According to a communiqué from STB, Mr Pecci has confirmed that the airline’s first direct weekly flight to Seychelles will leave from Milan and Rome on February 14.

This Valentine’s Day flight is set to leave Italy at 6pm from Milan and Rome at 8.10pm to arrive in Seychelles at 7.25am the following day, February 15.

A special promotional fare has been launched for this Valentine’s Day flight to Seychelles.
Blue Panorama Airline is seeing the launch of its Seychelles service on Valentine’s Day as the start of a love affair with Seychelles.

Blue Panorama Airline is set to increase its weekly service to Seychelles to two flights as from July this year, according to the STB communiqué.

Italy remains the second main tourism market for Seychelles and the direct non-stop flight will help to not only consolidate the market, but also help to boost it.

While confirming the flight service to Seychelles, the management of Blue Panorama Airline said they were now only waiting to receive final details of handling charges from Air Seychelles to finalise all their operational costs.

They were thankful for the support and the cooperation they have received from the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and the STB.

Mr St Ange said that the Seychelles islands experience is now accessible as never before.

“The hotels and resorts in Seychelles are today offering rates that reflect an across-the-board range, making Seychelles more accessible than ever before. The addition by the Blue Panorama Airline, an Italian company on the Seychelles run, brings a new dimension of accessibility as it will provide new flight options from Italy to the mid ocean tropical islands over and above the twelve weekly flights by Emirates, seven by Qatar and four by Etihad,” Mr St Ange said.
