Maillet was also privileged to officiate the second match of the tournament between Senegal and Zambia, assistant referee Jason Damoo ran the lines in the inaugural match between co-hosts Equatorial Guinea and Libya.

Seychelles Football Federation executive committee member Dolor Ernesta is also at the tournament, where he is a member of the appeal board. Mr Ernesta, who was also present at the 26th Can in 2008 in Ghana, is one of three members selected from a panel of 15.

Zambia qualified for the final after beating Ghana 1-0, while Ivory Coast eliminated Mali on the same 1-0 score in Wednesday's semifinals.
