Captain Guy Adam retires

Captain Guy Adam has retired

President James Michel thanked Captain Adam for his loyal, dedicated and exemplary service to the government and people of Seychelles.

A press release from State House yesterday said Mr Michel will appoint a new Sepec chairman in the near future.

Capt Adam has also resigned from the Boards of Société Seychelloise d’Investissement, Cassis Seychelles Limited and the Indian Ocean Tuna Limited.

Having attained 69 years of age, Captain Adam has retired from public service in order to dedicate himself to other personal matters and to other priorities.

“I thank you for your many years of loyal, dedicated and exemplary service to the Government and people of Seychelles. You have been an inspiration to us all, particularly to the boards you have served on and the companies you have headed. I am grateful to you for your counsel during your tenure of office and for your able stewardship especially of Sepec and its affiliated companies,” said Mr Michel.

As a result, we have one of the most modern tanker fleets in the world and we are making much progress in our quest for petroleum exploration in our waters. These are notable achievements and they are to your credit,” said the President in his letter to Capt Adam.

The President wished him much success in his future undertakings, and a happy, fruitful and active retirement.

Captain Adam was the chairman and chief executive of Sepec for the past 16 years and had previously a long career in shipping.
