The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) as the main organiser of the event was yesterday morning presented with donations from five partners from the business community in a meeting held at the STB headquarters at Bel Ombre.

The STB chief executive Alain St Ange received the donations on STB’s part and said they acknowledge the efforts of their partners from the hotel industry and others who have come forward to show their support towards this important event for Seychelles.

“Everyone in the tourism industry or depends on it knows that Seychelles needs visibility and there is no better way for us to get better visibility than the Carnaval International de Victoria,” he said.

Holbert Jean from the Count and Read day care centre presented a cheque for R6,000, Christine Francoise of the Seychelles Breweries Limited Company handed over a blown-up cheque for R75,000, while the managing director of the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Hotel Ken Choo gave R15,000.

Wilson Nancy, a representative of Dr V Ramadoss had a cheque for R50,000, while Mary Geers of the Sunset Beach Hotel presented a cheque for R20,000.

Mr St Ange thanked all the partners and said the STB will in return do a worldwide online promotion for the hotels that have come forward with contributions for this weekend-long event.
