Women pray for justice in the world

The congregation during the service

The prayer service, which was an inter-denominational event, was prepared by Christian women of Malaysia and attended by several priests and also some men.

During the ceremony prayers were recited by Seychellois women from all walks of life and the congregation sang praise.

The faithful followed the prayers from a book which also had several stories of women struggles in Malaysia. For example, there is a true story about a woman who fought for the cause of justice in Malaysia.

The theme of the prayer session – ‘Let justice prevail’ – echoes the present-day concerns of the unjust actions endured even today, especially by women who are still discriminated against in the fields of education and employment.
