Assembly to debate three motions |20 March 2012

The first motion, to be tabled by the Leader of Government Business, Marie-Antoinette Rose, is seeking the National Assembly’s approval of the Nagoya Protocol on access to genetic resources and the fair equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilisation to the Convention of Biological Diversity.

The elected member for Grand Anse Mahe, Lenny Lebon, will table the second motion requesting the government to adopt a policy that will make it mandatory for ministers to consult district authorities on any project to be implemented in their respective districts.

The third motion, by the elected member for Baie Lazare, Wilby Lucas, requests that the government and the Seychelles Licensing Authority reinforce measures on the sales of alcoholic beverages and operations of brewing houses across the country.
