IOC member states put emphasis on tourism |30 March 2012
These include the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion and Seychelles.
Foreign Affairs’ special advisor Jeannette D’Offay later said in an interview they have agreed to hold a regional conference on tourism.
“The conference will include all actors in the field which include the tourism ministry and transport so as to develop a tourism regional strategy.”
She said they also reviewed programmes for health and environment as well as fisheries.
Mrs D’Offay said the working groups have prepared the programmes to be approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Also present at the meeting were IOC’s secretary general Callixte D'Offay and Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Paul Adam.
The IOC is an intergovernmental organisation that encourages cooperation between the member States.
